Wildfires are destroying huge sections of the West.
Hurricane season has begun and the rising water is displacing people.
A heat wave is sitting on the center of the country pushing temperatures higher than ever recorded.
Unemployment continues to plague our nation.
With these news items, I’m surprised I haven’t heard more prognosticators spouting “End of the World” predictions including plagues and pestilence. Some of them probably are, but I try not to watch or listen to those stations for my own well-being.
We’re scheduled for temps over 100 for the next four or five days. I’ve already seen 106 listed as today’s high. Don’t even get me started about the whole heat index issue. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Then I received this picture and I was able to put it all into perspective:
